Thank you so much for all your good thoughts last week, my dear friends! My dad’s craniotomy was successful in removing one of his tumors that had been causing him some cognitive issues in the last few months. While this isn’t the end of the treatments he will need over the course of his cancer journey, we are so relieved that the procedure went well, and he is back home and feeling good.

I’m excited to be settling back at home in La (less excited that it’s going to be nearly 100 degrees this week 🫠), and I’m going to be focusing on finally getting through my backlog of recipes to share with you. Happy Monday, my dearest friends 🩷

Thank you so much for all your good thoughts last week, my dear friends! My dad’s craniotomy was successful in removing one of his tumors that had been causing him some cognitive issues in the last few months. While this isn’t the end of the treatments he will need over the course of his cancer journey, we are so relieved that the procedure went well, and he is back home and feeling good.

Citrus meringue cake 🫶🏻

A cake simply filled with sunshine 🥰 Happy Sunday, my dear friends.

I want to share with you why I have been a bit absent again: my dad is having a pretty serious surgery done this week, hopefully with very positive effect, to help with his cancer treatment. Things have been a little up in the air as of late, but his wonderful team of doctors has decided this surgery is necessary, and I deeply trust them and their judgement. I know I haven’t shared a lot about his cancer journey lately, and I’m so grateful he is still feeling so well despite it all. He faces this diagnosis, and all the treatments thrown his way, with so much dignity and bravery that I am truly in awe of how he handles it all with such grace (because I truly am not graceful with my feeling about all this, I’ll tell you that). I, and I’m sure he, would greatly appreciate good wishes sent his way this week for his surgery and recovery 🩷

Because of all this… I’ll be honest. I’ve been a bit burnt out. I’ve been burnt out for a long time, really, probably since he was diagnosed in 2024. But, we must carry on somehow, and I’m still working on recipes for you all behind the scenes (like this cake!), and I’m hopeful that I’ll have them up and ready for you to try in the coming weeks. They’re all written down in my notebook, ready for me to transcribe to my blog… which is admittedly not my favorite task 😅 As always, thank you for your love and patience, my sweet friends 💕
